10 Top Design Tips To Improve Your Work!

10.  Contrasting Fonts:

Choose complimentary fonts that establish a visual hierarchy. This can be done by using 2 or more fonts that can range in size, weight, shape.

9. Make sure your objects are aligned:

This will help to keep design elements in a presentable clean order no matter their range in size. This is an easy way to make your work look very professional and tidy.

8.  Utilize readability:

Add line spacing to separate lines giving them cushion. This is something that will add minimalism but also still look very clean. Giving the reader an easier experience to read information is key.

7. Add text over images:

This is an effective way to add hierarchy, add text over an image and lower the brightness levels then add text over the top. The dark background makes the text very readable, white text will work every time.

6. Keep it clean and simple:

Less is more, sometimes when you load a design up it becomes very busy in the scene. This causes the viewer to become confused and unsure where to look. Keep it clean and establish hierarchy.

5. Pick a great color scheme:

Color in a design is very important as it can and most likely will dictate what other elements in the design will need to be to make it readable and visually appealing. A great site called ColourLovers.com has millions of palettes with hex codes for you to use!

4. Don’t overuse fonts:

Using 2-3 contrasting fonts is a great way to go in your design, when you incorporate too many styles in the design, it can look messy and a sense of hierarchy can be destroyed. If done properly and thought out, it can be very clean!

3. Practice makes perfect:

There is no better tip than to hone your design game, and skill set. Practice ways to present information clearly and attractively. This could be by utilizing the tips stated in this post!

Designing right off the bat is a great idea, but can be hard for even the creative ones out there. Having a plan, knowing your design elements, fonts, colors, and an overall design layout is key!
